Design Flanders is the Flemish governmental organization that

promotes contemporary and qualitative design to people and

companies. Design Flanders, under the supervision of the

Flemish Minister of Economy, Entrepreneurship, Science,

Innovation and Foreign Trade, supports designers in Flanders

and helps companies to integrate design in their activities.

It also believes in making the general public aware on the

surplus value of design. 'Qualitative design' is more than

a slogan.

In 1994, it was first established and since then, it has awarded

important designers yearly till 2007.

The main purpose of the awards is to value and reward

Flemish design, to put it on the map, show who the important

designers, the coming young talents and the good companies are,

as well as rewarding exceptional objects, realized in the previous year.

Henry Van de Velde labels is given to the awardees.
